Grandparent’s day in Cloontagh NS 2019

We had a lovely prayer service in Cloontagh NS on Friday, February 1st to celebrate St Brigid’s Day and to celebrate our Grandparents. We invited our Grandparents to share in our celebration and we were delighted that so many people turned up. Fr T opened the service and welcomed everyone. Amy and her grandmother, Nuala, lit the candle to begin our prayer service. All of our grandparents, living and dead , were represented by photographs, symbols, drawings, etc  Fourth class and sixth class students did the readings and prayers. We sang, we prayed, we listened to readings and the second class played their tin whistles. It was a celebration of the relationships we have with our grandparents and the deep love we have for them. The Parents Association provided refreshments afterwards and everyone got a chance to have a chat. We were delighted to have the opportunity to show our school to our grandparents and they really enjoyed seeing it too.
