Investigation Fabric and Fibre in the Junior Room
The children in the junior room had great fun investigating Fabric and Fibre. They deconstructed fabric to find out how materials are made. They learned about the clothes their grandparents and great grandparents would have worn. They played in their Siopa Éadaí and learned all about clothes in Irish. They learned the difference between natural and man-made fabrics. Then they made their own fabric by weaving with lots of different threads on their cardboard looms. Their designs were really colourful, making us think that we may have some fashion designers in the future.
