In line with the directions given by the Government on Thursday March 12th Cloontagh NS will remained closed for two weeks until Monday March 30th. Parents will be kept informed of any changes or updates to this information as they arise. Work has been sent home with all children so that they can keep up with their school work.

We acknowledge participation in the NextGenerationEU Funded Project. This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through Next Generation EU. This funding was used to update WIFI and to install WIFI boosters in each classroom. We also bought Chromebooks.

Microbit 2025: This year our senior room spent some time learning how to code using a Microbit. We had to work on a project of our choice to help solve a real life problem. We worked as a team and came with the idea of a MicroFIT. Our project helped people with their health and wellbeing, You press a button and the MicroFIT displays a random activity e.g. jumping jacks, mountain climbers. We then went to Edgeworthstown to a Microsoft DreamSpace competition where we won a prize. We had a fantastic time.
