We bid a fond farewell to Mrs Pauline Ferguson on Oct 23. Pauline retired having taught for nineteen years at Cloontagh N.S. ; twelve as Principal. The children made presentations of an oak sapling, a card signed (digitally) by all the pupils with poems written by the children, chocolates , hand and heart-shaped crafts and memories of Mrs Ferguson read by the older children. Following this, a garda escort complete with sirens and flashing lights heralded a convoy of parents and past pupils in a ‘ drive -by’ . Parents, B.O.M. and staff were keen to show their appreciation of Pauline’s dedication to teaching and learning while she taught at Cloontagh. We wish Pauline many happy years of retirement .
