We had a wonderful performance from all the boys and girls at Cloontagh NS today, followed by a surprise visit from Santa Claus. Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas Holiday.      

We learned Irish vocabulary and spelling while playing a fun game of word bingo.  

Halloween dress-up with lots of fun games at our party.      

We dressed as characters from the historical era we studied!  ‘The Vikings’. Some pupils dressed as Japanese women. We are doing a project on Japan and using this as part of our work on the Green Schools Flag: ‘Global Citizenship – Litter and Waste’

In September we combined what we learned in SESE on the counties of Leinster with the P.E. Strand – Outdoor and Adventure Activities. Pupils matched the counties with the province in a fun timed competition.

Senior class pupils were very impressive in reading books to junior class pupils. This opportunity afforded a purpose for reading and was of great benefit to all pupils.

We dramatised a restaurant scene, and acted the roles of: chef – an cócaire, waiter/waitress – an freartalaí, customer – an custaiméir.  An exciting menu (biachlár) was provided.
