Congratulations to the eleven pupils from Cloontagh NS who won prizes for their entries to the Scríobh Leabhar competition.  This is a great achievement for such a small school.   Pictured below are some of their children receiving their prizes at Carrick on Shannon Education Centre recently. Maths – Fractions

Senior class pupils learned about equivalent fractions and improper fractions when they cooked and cut up pizzas. Oh, they enjoyed eating them too!! A fun board game was another resource used in learning about fractions 4th Class pupils used bare ten materials to learn multiplication and division of three digit numbers.

ART

Senior class pupils made pinch pots.  Each one is unique and now beautifully painted and glazed.   Modelling clay was used to create a matte and bailey which Granard Knights and Conquests Centre have requested for display on their website.
