S.E.S.E. Soil Investigation

Senior classes examined soil samples (clay, sand, loam) and the characteristics of each were discussed. We found living organisms (e.g. beetle) humus and decaying material (leaves, cipíns ) in a soil sample taken from the school grounds. Getting ready for Halloween

The Junior Room children have been busy preparing for Halloween.  They used Papier Maché to design and create their own masks.  The process was really messy but great fun.  Everybody got the chance to build their form, design their monster face and paint it just the way they like it.   REALLY SCARY!!!!!

Visit from Local Historian

Paddy Egan, local historian visited our school and gave a very informative and engaging presentation on the history of the Royal Canal.  He described the function of the Canal from its first opening in Clondra in 1817 to the present day.  Paddy explained the use of barges to transport animals, Guinness, grain, flax and manure.  […]
